Yes there are a number of diet foods available, such as Hills Prescription Diet, R/D, W/D and Eukanuba Weight Loss Diet which you should be able to get at your veterinary clinic. Inquire as to whether your vet clinic has a weight loss program you could join. No snack foods unless diet snacks which Hill's and Eukanuba have and carrots are also a good healthy snack option.

With the Eukanuba Restricted Calorie food it's not like the Hill's R/D or W/D where you feed to the ideal dogs weight. Restricted Calories is that you set a goal weight target for you doxie and feed according to that goal weight e.g if he/she weights 8 pounds and ideal weight is 4 pounds then set a goal weight of 6 pounds and feed according to a 6 pound dog. Once he/she has reached the set another for 4 pounds and feed accordingly.

Also split his/hers daily intake into 2 meals so half in the morning and the other half at night. Also limit the weight loss treats as well.

You can also put morning or night meal in a food ball or other feeder where they have to work out how to get the food out, this way they get a little more exercise. If your doxie likes the water then swimming is great, as less pressure is put on their joints. Ensure they get plenty of exercise for this particular breed

Hope this gives you some ideas.
