These dappled dogs have lighter areas intermingled with darker areas of color and occur in all colors. If the base color is light the dappling can be hard to see, this dog often has blue eyes. Double Dapples these can occur when two dapples are bred together. This pattern usually has some areas of white such as on the nose, neck, paws or tail.These dogs are prone to congenital problems, especially if the colour is in the eyes or ears sometimes resulting in blindness or deafness. It has been noted that not all dogs with this coat pattern have problems but some breeding lines carry the problem genes and prospective owners need to be aware.
